Just Junk

The date to list the house is December 1st and we are busy touching up baseboards and doors, kitchen woodwork, deciding what furniture stays for the open house and what we move to storage. When we come back from Mexico and have committed to an apartment, we will decide what specific furniture will be moved to Mexico.

It still looks like a formidable undertaking, however we don't have to move yet, until we actually sell the house. I can tell you right now that we all have too much stuff. Too many books. Too many papers in the office that we can't seem to throw away. Too many knick knacks. Too many kitchen utensils that never get used. I went through one kitchen drawer and found 400 to 500 business cards that are never used; two garlic presses, rubber bands, push pins, a rock with the word "joy" etched into the surface and tape measures galore. I must be addicted to spiral notebooks. They are stashed everywhere, in many different sizes along with pencils with hardened erasures.

It will be great to start over with a clean junk slate. I will vow never to do it again, unless I come across a 19 cent special on 70 sheet spiral notebooks.
